Part 2 - God’s Blueprint for Your Financial Life

Pastor Steve August 16, 2026 Sunday Service

This Sunday at Dominion City Church, the congregation embarked on a transformative journey with the launch of a new series: “Build Different: God’s Blueprint for Your Financial Life.” The conversation focused on rethinking the approach to finances from a scriptural and Kingdom-minded perspective, inviting everyone to challenge cultural assumptions and instead discover the foundation God intends for financial stewardship.

A key theme that emerged was the idea that God has a unique and intentional blueprint for every believer’s financial life—one rooted in stewardship, responsibility, and generosity. The discussion explored how many Christians struggle financially not because of a lack of desire or effort but because of long-standing misconceptions, self-imposed limitations, or failing to align with God’s foundational truths about money.

Drawing from both Old and New Testament examples, the teaching highlighted that God is not opposed to wealth or prosperity; rather, He desires that His people prosper to accomplish His purposes and bless others. Several points were raised, including the principle that money is simply a tool—a means to serve God and others—and must never become an idol or source of anxiety. Pastor Steve emphasized that the world’s way of building wealth often leads to worry, competition, and misguided priorities, but when Christians build according to God’s design, abundance flows with peace and purpose.

One concept discussed was the inseparable link between provision and obedience. Throughout the sermon, the idea was reinforced that hearing and following God’s voice is essential to stepping into supernatural supply and moving out of lack. The call went out for believers to make space in their lives to seek God’s direction regarding finances—prioritizing God’s guidance above trends, societal pressures, or “trial and error” in money matters.

Illustrations from scripture—including the provisions in Eden, the miracles of provision in Jesus’ ministry, and God's instructions to Elijah—were used to show that God has always prepared resources ahead of our needs. The responsibility, then, is not only to pray for blessing but to act on God’s specific instructions and to be diligent stewards of whatever He places in our hands.

The sermon concluded with a challenge: to see oneself as a channel of blessing, called to meet not just personal needs but to become a solution to the needs of others. The foundation has been laid for the coming weeks, promising deep dives into practical keys for stewarding resources, overcoming lack, and aligning with God’s heart for kingly generosity.

If you’re ready to “build different” and uncover God’s strategic plan for your financial journey, don’t miss this ongoing series. Join us next Sunday and throughout the week as we continue to unlock Biblical principles for abundant living—God’s way.
